Second Cup Cat Café is a unique small business, created to elevate the cat adoption experience.The café offers free roam playtime and relaxation for all our kitties, in contrast to the stressful and loud environment of the shelter.Come visit Johnson County's first cat café!
What to expect
After getting your beverage (complimentary with your entry fee!), you're invited to relax in the lounge and get to know the kitties.Spend an hour at the café playing with our many cat toys, coloring books, puzzles, or books for every age.
All cats in our care are adoptable! Second Cup Cat Café is proud to partner with local shelters to find the purr-fect home for cats in need. Each cat is fully vetted before they can enter the café, fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to be loved by you and your family!

Hours
Monday - Friday: 9 am - 7 pm
Saturday: 9 am - 5 pm
Sunday: 12 pm - 5 pm
Though not required, reservations are encouraged, especially on Tuesdays. Walk-ins are always welcome on an availibilty basis. Our max capacity in the cafe is 20 people.
Rates
$15 per person for an hour full of kitty cuddles and playtime. Café guests receive a complimentary hot or cold beverage.
Children five and under are free!
Half-price entry each Tuesday — only $7.50 per person!
All adoption fees go directly to the cat's original shelter. Every visit and donation allow us to continue our mission to help homeless cats in need!

Guests will be asked to sign this waiver upon arrival.
In order to promote a safe and enjoyable space for guests and the kitties, please abide by the following rules:
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
Do not open the door between the café and the doggy daycare.
Be kind to our kitties. Use gentle touch and soft voices. Do not chase cats or pull their ears or tails.
Let the cats come to you. Cats are naturally curious and will approach as they feel comfortable. You may pet a sleeping cat, but sleep is important for the kitties so do not wake them.
Keep food and drink away from the cats. Their stomachs are sensitive and people food or drink can make them very ill. Cat treats are available for purchase at the front desk.
Pet cats on their head and upper back, and remember most cats will claw/scratch if you touch their stomach area.
Be aware when entering or exiting the café. Cats are quick and sneaky!
We reserve the right to ask you to leave if your behavior is deemed harmful to the cats. No refunds will be offered in this case.

Donation Day
Donation Day is the first Thursday of each month! In lieu of the regular $15 entrance fee, guests can enter all day long with any donation of things needed at the café: cleaning supplies, cat food, litter, etc. Browse our Amazon wish list below for more ideas!
Wine Wednesday
Wine Wednesday is the second Wednesday of each month, from 6 to 8 pm. Wine, snacks, and two whole hours of café time with the kitties are included in the $25 rate! This event is for women 21 and older.
Book Club
Book Club is the third Monday of each month, from 6 to 8 pm. We read a different book each month — check out what the next read will be on our Facebook page. Snacks, drinks, and two whole hours of café time with the kitties are included in the $20 rate!
Yoga with Cats
Bring your own mat and get ready to stretch and laugh as you do yoga with cats! This event is held periodically and spots fill quickly, so keep an eye out on our Facebook page. for the next date!
Birthday Parties
Have a meow-gical birthday by having your or your loved one's party at the café. When you host a party with us, you get real cat centerpieces at no extra charge! :) Call the café at 913-712-8865 or email us to get the party planning started.

Indoor Dog Park
Johnson County's first and only temperature-controlled indoor dog park, conveniently located next door to the Cat Café. All dogs must be current on vaccinations and free from fleas and parasites. Everyone needs to sign a waiver prior to play.Rate: $5.00 per hour, per dog. We are starting with limited hours to see how it goes.
